Insurance and Financial Policy 

Does the Clinic accept health insurance?

YES. The Clinic is considered in-network with the following health insurance companies in the US.

Insurance verification and payments 
A benefit check will be done to determine the cost of a visit at our office for your particular health insurance policy. 
All co-pays, co-insurance, and deductible required by the policy will be due at the time of the visit.

Claims and Invoices
The Clinic submits claims to insurance companies on behalf of all patients. If the insurance conpany determines the patient has additional charges to pay for an office visit, radiology services, or lab work, the Clinic will e-mail an invoice to the patient.  Invoices are NOT physically mailed.  Should a patient receive an invoice, it should be noted that the invoice is relection of what the health insurnace company believes the patient owes. The Clinic has no other information for the reason for these charges. All patients are encouraged to contact their health insurance company if he/she believes the invoice is in error. 

Laboratory billing
​The Clinic offers laboratory services through Sunrise Laboratories as a convenience to the patient. Sunrise Laboratories is contracted and considered in-network with Aetna, Cigna, and all Blue Cross Blue Shield (including Carefirst), and United Healthcare Choice Plus  plans. The Clinic will bill for all routine lab tests completed at the Clinic. There are some non-routine lab tests that Sunrise Laboratories may have to bill the insurance directly. 

Patients with Blue Choice plans must have their lab samples processed by LabCorp. 

Radiology and Diagonistic Services
The Clinic offers in-office thyroid ultrasound and FNA biopsies for nodules.  The Clinic partners with CBL Pathology for all pathology services.  CBL offers genetic mutation testing (Thyroseq) for further assessing risk of cancer in some nodules.

The Clinic also partners with area hospitals and radiology centers, such Washington Radiology Associates, Sibley Radiology Dept. and Washington Hospital Center, for other diognistic testing and surgical needs.
